Spirit Championships 2024

This is the annual Spirit Martial Arts Closed Championships!

Competiton between all Spirit Academies with sections available for ages and abilities, including our younger students in Junior Dragons and Tiny Tigers!

This is a great way to spend a Sunday with sections covering breaking, sparring and kata. You will not only experience the thrill of competing but also have plenty to see during the event!

Fantastic trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place and a medal for anyone who does not win a trophy!

We will be awarding trophies to the kata competitors at an interim presentation so that younger children do not have to stay all day if they are not fighting

9:00am sign for all kata sections

11:00am sign in for all sparring and breaking sections

Entries will open on Spetmeber 1st with sign in sheets at the Academy to register.

Sections:

• Points Sparring *
• Continous Kickboxing Sparring *
• Traditional Kata **
• Creative Kata - empty hand and Weapons
• Weapons Kata **
• Team Kata (3 person team) **
• Breaking - Kicks (all ages)
• Breaking - Hand Techniques (over 16 years old only)

For ages 4-6 we recommend Creative Kata as the most fun for the little ones, please speak to the instructor about what they need to do to prepare!

Entry Fees

Entry fee: £8 per person per section if paid before September 30th

• £10 thereafter (stating at midnight on the 1st October, no exceptions)
• If you register before but pay later than the 30th September you will not qualify for the discount
• Fees are fully refundable if you cancel up to 48 hours before the event, after this a £3 admin fee will be deducted

NOTES:

*Entrants must have full Spirit Martial Arts protective gear:

• Gloves (boxing gloves for kickboxing / tag gloves for points sparring)
• Headguard
• Gum shield (correctly formed)
• Shin pads
• Boots
• Groin guard (for males)

** Jackets must be worn for Pattern/Kata sections except for Junior Dragons / Tiny Tigers
